Men’s tennis prepares for the Blue Gray Championships this weekend

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 27-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis heads to Montgomery, Ala. to compete in the 76th annual Blue Gray Annual National Tennis Classic on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Lagoon Park Tennis Complex and O'Conner Tennis Center.
MTSU drew No. 48 Auburn to open the tournament, this dual match will take place on Friday, Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. CT. The Blue Raiders fell in the last match against the Tigers on Sunday, Feb. 18.
To finish the first day of competition, the Blue Raiders will start its second match against either No. 21 Michigan State or No. 51 Boise State and will compete in doubles only.
On Saturday, MTSU will wrap up their second match by competing in singles against the Spartans or the Broncos from the day before. To round out the tournament, the Blue Raiders will take on an opponent from the other side of the bracket for a full dual match on Saturday afternoon.
The 2024 field for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic consists of No. 19 Alabama, No. 21 Michigan State, No. 27 Middle Tennessee, No. 31 Princeton, No. 47 Old Dominion, No. 48 Auburn, No. 51 Boise State and No. 64 Rice.
The new Intercollegiate Tennis Association individual rankings were released on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
