Kamrowski named Conference USA Athlete of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Marcel Kamrowski was tabbed Conference USA Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
"Marcel has been playing well and his new role in doubles has been huge," said MTSU Head Coach Jimmy Borendame. "I am happy to see him continue to improve on and off court. I see big things in his future."
Marcel Kamrowski helped No. 26 Middle Tennessee earn two wins including a ranked win over No. 49 Boise State at the Blue Gray Championships this last weekend. Kamrowski picked up four victories at the tournament. The Gdansk, Poland native tallied two wins against No. 48 Auburn earning a 7-5 doubles win with Karim Al Amin over Tyler Stice and Will Nolan on court No. 3 and a singles win against Raul Dobai 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 on court No. 2.
The sophomore clinched the ranked win over No. 49 Boise State for the Blue Raiders with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory over Jip van Assendelft on court No. 2. To cap off the tournament, Kamrowski and Al-Amin won 7-6 (5) over Arthus de la Bassetiere and Eduardo Morais of Rice.
