Blue Raiders fall to Hoosiers 12-5 on the road

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In a midweek matchup, Middle Tennessee fell to Indiana 12-5 on Tuesday evening.
The Hoosiers (13-12) struck first in the opening frame on an RBI double to right center field and extended their lead to four after plating a trio of runs in the second. In the third, Indiana added to its lead again with a solo shot to right field.
The Blue Raiders (10-13) got on the board in the fourth, thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Briggs Rutter and Trace Phillips, however, the Hoosiers answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Jared Vetetoe narrowed the margin to 4-6 in the sixth after sending a two-run home run to right field, but once again Indiana responded with a pair of runs to regain a 4-8 lead. The Hoosiers would go on to win 12-5
Vetetoe led the way with a pair of hits, while six other Blue Raiders each collected a hit. Vetetoe also tallied a team-high two RBI, while Gabe Jennings scored a team-high two runs.
