Women’s Tennis travels to No. 35 FIU on Tuesday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis will head to Miami, Fla. to take on Conference USA foe No. 35 FIU on Tuesday, March 5 at 11 a.m. CT.
The match was scheduled for Wednesday, March 6 but has been moved to Tuesday, March 5 due to rain.
This will be the second conference match of the season for the Blue Raiders as they won the first one 4-3 against Jacksonville State to open the season.
MTSU went 3-0 against Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky and Troy in the last matches they played but are coming off a week-long break of matches.
As a team, MTSU has totaled 41 singles wins. Freshman Lena Peyer leads the team in singles wins with nine. Sana Garakani and Eloise Swarbrick are not too far behind with eight each.
Match 15: Middle Tennessee (8-6, 1-0 CUSA) vs. FIU (7-2, 0-0 CUSA)

- Sunday's matchup will be 16th meeting between the two programs. FIU leads the series 14-1.
Scouting the Panthers
- FIU is 7-2 on the season. In the last match, the Trojans defeated Tulane 4-1. FIU is currently ranked No. 35 by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
- The Panthers return four players from last season and bring in four freshmen. The returners combined for 53 singles and 69 doubles wins in 2023.
- Oyinlomo Quadre is ranked No. 47 in singles by ITA.
