Men's Basketball strikes twice in the transfer portal
Middle Tennessee Men's Basketball has been very busy in the transfer portal in recent days, picking up two commitments in the past week from Jarred Hall (Tulsa) and Alec Oglesby (Stetson).
The all-time leading scorer at Lebanon High School, Hall was named 2023 Class 4A Mr. Basketball in the state of Tennessee and the District 9-4A MVP his senior season. A four-star recruit, he was the No. 1 ranked player in Tennessee by Prep Hoops.

"We're very excited about welcoming Jarred back to the mid-state," head coach Nick McDevitt said. "He's a big, athletic player that will fit very well into our style of play. He had an outstanding prep career at Lebanon High School under Jim McDowell, and he should flourish here at Middle Tennessee as well!"
A 40 percent 3-point shooter during his time at Stetson, Oglesby started all 34 games for the Hatters in 2023-24, averaging 10.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He scored in double figures 17 times, including a season-high 22 points on 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range to go along with eight rebounds at FIU on December 19.

"Alec is a great addition to our program in many ways," head coach Nick McDevitt said. "The first thing that you notice is his ability to shoot the basketball, but he's more than just a shooter. He brings levels of experience and toughness that make us better. Most importantly, he's a winner, having been to the NCAA Tournament at two different institutions."
Women's Basketball portal is brewing...
While my role with the university limits my ability to comment publicly on any recruiting until future Blue Raiders sign on the dotted line, rest assured that the Women's Basketball staff is just as excited about their future.
Don't believe me? Maybe you'll believe Matt Insell (though depending on when you're reading this, the news might already be out. Or if you're on Twitter, you might already know!).
