Eloji sets new CUSA Record in 110H

EL PASO, Texas. – Middle Tennessee men's and women's track and field teams completed this weekend's meet at the Outdoor CUSA Championships in El Paso, Texas.
Stephen Eloji set a new Conference USA Outdoor Championships record in the 110-meter Hurdles of 13.28s to take home the gold and break his own previous record from a season ago.
The men's team finished with 105 total points while the women's team managed 104. Qualifiers for NCAA Regionals are set to be released Thursday, May 16.
Men's Top Performances
· Eloji advanced to the 110-meter Hurdles finals after he finished first in the prelims with a 13.60s time. He would go to take gold in the finals and set a new CUSA Outdoor Championships record of 13.28s. Eloji also took home gold in the 400-meter Hurdles.
· Carmelo Cannizzaro would win gold in the men's 3000-meter Steeplechase with Brian Kiptoo taking silver and Vincent Yegon with Bronze.
· Yegon also took home silver on Fiday night in the 10k race.
· Brian Kiptoo took silver in the 1500-meter with Habtamu Geta taking bronze. Kiptoo would also take home the gold in the 5k with Geta taking silver.
Women's Top Performances
· Lakesha Smith finished first in the long jump with a PB and CUSA best 6.07m.
· Faith Nyathi won the 1500-meter prelims to advance to the final with a 4:38.30s.
· Viktoria Rusnakova would win the triple jump on Sunday with a PB 12.62 mark and the second furthest in CUSA this season.
· Odilia Jepchumba won the 1500-meter race with Nyathi taking bronze.
· Pamela Milano finished second in the 800-meter finals with a 2:09.88s time.
· The 4x100 team of Lakesha Smith, Leonie Beu, Tamia Waters and Lyn'Nikka Vance took home bronze.
· Jepchumba also won silver in the 5k race with Nyathi winning bronze to wrap up the competition for the weekend.

The NCAA Regionals will take place on May 22-25 in Lexington, Ky.
