Pike and Walker Added to Women’s Basketball Support Staff

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Athletics announced the addition of two individuals to the women's basketball support staff on Monday.
Rachel Pike will serve as the new Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, while Johna Walker will join the Blue Raiders as an Associate Athletic Trainer.
Pike, a certified strength and conditioning coach, comes to Murfreesboro after serving as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Missouri Western State University. There, she designed and implemented training programs for the women's basketball team, which won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship in the 2023-24 season, as well as for the volleyball team and assisted with the football team. Pike also developed a comprehensive nutritional program, establishing a fueling station and conducting interactive workshops and individual counseling sessions.
Prior to her time in St. Josephs, Pike worked at Campbell University, where she managed strength and conditioning programs for track and field, softball, and men's and women's golf, while also earning a Masters in Exercise Science. She began her career at Catawba College, where she designed specific programs for over 12 teams and took on full responsibilities following the early departure of the director of sports performance.
Pike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nutrition with an RDN track from Northwest Missouri State University. She is CPR and AED certified and also holds the CSCCa SCCC Certification and TPI Level 1 certification.
Walker comes to Murfreesboro after serving as an assistant athletic trainer at Presbyterian College, where she provided comprehensive health care to student-athletes across multiple sports, including women's basketball, which won the 2023-24 Big South Conference championship, men's basketball, golf, and football. Prior to her time in Clinton, She spent a year at Lexington Clinic Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, where she honed her skills in patient care and medical record management.
In addition to her professional roles, Walker has gained extensive clinical experience with various collegiate sports teams, including the University of Florida's women's basketball team and Eastern Kentucky University's women's soccer and basketball teams. Her professional certifications include Dry Needling for Rehabilitation and Sports Performance, South Carolina Licensure, and BOC Certification. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.
Walker earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University in 2021 and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Morehead State University in 2019, where she was recognized on the Dean's List and awarded the Transfer Scholarship. She also holds an Associate in Science from Hazard Community and Technical College.
