Blue Raiders Defeat Robert Morris in a Thriller

MTSU volleyball takes down RMU 3-1
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Middle Tennessee volleyball pulled off the victory over Robert Morris by a score of 3-1. The first three sets all came down to the wire, but in the fourth set the Blue Raiders pulled away winning eight of the last twelve points. The final scores of the sets were as follows: 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18.
MTSU (3-5, 0-0) outhit Robert Morris (3-4, 0-0) by over .100 points with the final numbers being MTSU .292, RMU .186. These numbers resulted in 60 kills for the Blue Raiders to just 41 for the Colonials. Middle Tennessee volleyball also dominated on defense by having more digs and blocks than RMU. The Blue Raiders will look to clean up their serving errors as they had 18 on the night, with 16 of them coming in the first three sets.
Outside hitter Adriana Rhoda dominated tonight putting up 20 kills on an absurd .485 hitting percentage. She also added three blocks. Freshman Andi Spies had her second 50+ assist performance recording 51. Defensively, she also added four blocks and seven digs. Middle blocker Kiera Booth's presence was felt all over the court tonight as she had 11 kills on an .348 hitting percentage with an outstanding six blocks. The Blue Raiders had more stars in the back row, as Allyson Eckel and Laure Jansen had 19 and 15 digs, respectively.
When asked about what her performance tonight, junior Adriana Rhoda stated, "We're working through a lot right now as a team and it's not always pretty, but tonight my teammates played a huge part in my performance by providing energy and installing confidence in me the entire day."
