Blue Raider Charli Dunn Bound for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee freshman midfielder/defender Charli Dunn helped lead the New Zealand U-19 National Team to the OFC Championship title in Papeete, Tahiti, earning qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
Dunn appeared in all five matches during the tournament, starting three and logging approximately 315 minutes of play.
Head Coach Aston Rhoden praised Dunn's growth and potential following the achievement:
"Charli has a very bright future in the game, and the World Cup will provide a great stage for her to showcase her talent, mentality, and professionalism," Rhoden said. "I can't wait to watch her compete in the tournament."
Dunn expressed her excitement about representing her country on the global stage:
"I'm excited for everything leading up to the World Cup and hope we can continue to develop our playing style while improving both individually and as a team," Dunn said. "I just hope we can go into next year honoring the fern and do great things on the world stage once again."
The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup will be held next year, with host nation and dates to be announced.
