Blue Raiders stun Bears in Friday night sweep

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Volleyball took down Missouri State in straight-sets in the teams' first meeting of the weekend. The set scores were as follows: 25-23, 26-24, 25-16.
The Blue Raiders successful night began with domination from the service line, Middle Tennessee posting a tied season high 10 aces in tonight's match compared to Missouri State's four. Caroline Macander had a career high four aces; Michaela Dlouhá tallied three. Offensively, Raegan Durbin led all players in the match with 12 kills, Dlouhá notched nine and Aowyn Schrader totaled eight, the Blue Raiders posting 12 more team kills than the Bears.
Defensively, Isil Yilmaz recorded a team high 16 digs, Durbin and Marie Lowell posted 13 each. Logan Carr notched a team high four blocks, two of them solo. The Blue Raiders combined for eight team blocks and 58 team digs, besting the Bears in both stat categories.
"I am super proud of our players for executing the game plan," said head coach Alexa Keckler. "We came in and played with confidence and worked hard, and when Missouri State pushed back in that second set we did a really good job of not letting them press the gas."
