Murphy Lifts Middle Tennessee to Overtime Win Over FIU in Tournament Match

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Middle Tennessee (11-5-3, 5-2-1 CUSA) advanced in the Conference USA Tournament with a dramatic 1–0 overtime victory against FIU (7-6-4, 4-3-1 CUSA) on Sunday night at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg, Va.
Junior Hannah Murphy delivered the game-winner in the 97th minute, burying a right-footed shot after receiving a pass from Senior Emma Pettersen. The golden goal marked Murphy's third score of the season and capped a tightly contested defensive battle.
Freshman goalkeeper Ella Sellers was outstanding once again, recording six saves to secure her fifth win and fourth clean sheet of the year. Sellers made five stops in the second half alone as FIU pushed forward late.

By the Numbers:
Both teams finished with 12 shots, while Middle Tennessee held a 4–3 edge in shots on goal during regulation.
Pettersen led the Blue Raiders with three shots on target and assisted on the decisive play in overtime.
