MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's basketball program has signed its first new member of the 2026-27 roster with the addition of Jalen Lyn, head coach Nick McDevitt announced Thursday. Lyn comes to Murfreesboro following two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho, a top-tier junior college program who is currently ranked 15th in the latest NJCAA poll.
A native of Queens, N.Y., Lyn averaged 7.9 points per game in his freshman season with the Golden Eagles while tallying nine double-digit scoring contests. His best appearance came off the bench against Blue Mountain Community College, scoring 25 points in 23 minutes of 9-13 shooting from the floor and 4-5 from behind the arc. He tacked on five assists and two blocks in the win as well.
Five games into his sophomore season in Twin Falls, Idaho, he has already tallied three 10+ scoring games, including two where he scored over 20. The guard bested last year's scoring high with 26 points against Western Wyoming Community College in his third collegiate start. Lyn is averaging 15.0 points per game this season as a strong, athletic combo guard.
Prior to joining the College of Southern Idaho, Lyn, who stands at 6-3, attended Hillcrest Prep in Arizona, averaging 18 points, six assists and five rebounds his senior season. The standout year saw him ranked the 29th point guard in the 2024 class on 247 Sports, while being a McDonald's All-American Nominee, a Grind Session All Star and the Grind Session Assist Leader. Prior to joining Hillcrest, the same preparatory school that current Blue Raider Kamari Lands attended, he averaged 22 points, eight assists and four rebounds for Tennessee Prep.
