Blue Raiders Storm Back to Beat Providence, 54–48

DESTIN, Fla. – Middle Tennessee women's basketball (3–3) stormed back from a 16-point first-quarter deficit to earn a gritty 54–48 victory over Providence (4-2) on Monday at Raider Arena.
After scoring just two points in the opening quarter, the Blue Raiders flipped the game with a dominant defensive stretch, outscoring Providence 15–6 in the second quarter and 20–9 in the third to seize momentum.
Freshman Blair Baugus delivered another standout performance, recording a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, shooting an efficient 7–10 from the field. Senior guard Alayna Contreras added 22 points, including two clutch third-quarter threes and a perfect 10–12 at the free-throw line, powering MTSU's comeback.
Coach's Comments
They started scrapping in the second half. I thought we did a good job in our 1-2 press. Going back to what I said before halftime, we were 1-for-15 with our two best shooters. We got a lot of turnovers, and in the second half we just ran with it.
