DALLAS, TX – The Blue Raiders swept Conference USA honors after a strong week of matches.
Junior Karim Al-Amin was named C-USA Athlete of the Week after winning three matches and helping lead the Blue Raiders to victory against Arkansas. It was a breakout week for Al-Amin, who secured wins against opponents from Vanderbilt, Indiana, and Arkansas.
This marks Al-Amin's second honor of the season. Earlier, he and his doubles partner, Ondrej Horak, were named Doubles Team of the Week.
Al-Amin on the Honor
"I'm thankful for the coaches believing in me and the work we put in on and off the court this week!"
Shu Matsuoka and Rostislav Halfinger were named Doubles Team of the Week. It was the first time the duo earned the honor, as well as their first time competing together. They went flawless in their two matches, securing victories against Arkansas and Eastern Kentucky.
The Blue Raiders look to keep their momentum going as they prepare to face Oklahoma State on Friday.
