Blue Raiders End Road Trip on a High Note

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Middle Tennessee took a four-hour trip from Louisiana to Texas and face off against Sam Houston, where the Blue Raiders came out on top 59-46.
Both offenses struggled early, but Savannah Davis came off the bench and provided a spark for Middle Tennessee. She attempted just one 3-pointer, but it proved to be a crucial shot, giving the Raiders momentum. Anastasiia Boldyreva also got going with six points and four rebounds in the first quarter as Middle Tennessee carried a 15-11 lead into the second.
The offense picked up before halftime, led by Ta'Mia Scott. After a quiet first quarter, Scott shot 4-of-6 from the field in the second, adding a key 3-pointer. She finished the half with 11 points, three rebounds and one steal. Boldyreva added to her totals, recording a first-half double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blue Raiders entered halftime leading 31-22, fueled by strong performances from Scott and Boldyreva.
Middle Tennessee continued to build on its lead in the third quarter, capitalizing on turnovers and strong defensive play. Jalynn Gregory highlighted the period for the Raiders, scoring eight points and going a perfect 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. The Raiders led 44-30 heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth, Scott and Boldyreva once again led the way, combining for 12 of the team's 15 points. Scott shot 2-of-2 from the field and added another 3-pointer to her stat line. Boldyreva finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks, marking her second consecutive double-double.
Middle Tennessee secured its 21st win of the season and improved to 13-1 in conference play.
