MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Right-handed pitcher Drew Horn has earned national recognition for his stellar performance on March 9 against Oakland. He becomes the first Blue Raider to receive the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Pitcher of the Week honor and the first Raider since Dewon Brazleton in 2001 to earn the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) distinction.
Horn was named Pitcher of the Week by the College Baseball Hall of Fame (CBHOF), the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) after recording 13 strikeouts and throwing the fifth no-hitter in program history on Sunday.
Teammates Trace Phillips and Chandler Alderman also earned TSWA Pitcher of the Week honors last season.
Horn lowered his season ERA to 1.48, and is tied for eighth in the nation with 38Ks on the year. He also ranks 20th in the country in WHIP with a 0.74, allowing less than one runner reaching base an inning.
He looks to continue his dominant start to the year, heading into Conference USA play in two weeks against #19 Dallas Baptist on the road.
