Blue Raiders Conclude Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA — The Blue Raiders wrapped up day three of the Penn Relays with a podium finish and a new program record.
To start the meet, Allan Kiplagat earned third place in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, marking another podium finish in the event for the sophomore. Kiplagat also set a new personal best with a time of 8:39.06.
Fellow Blue Raider Carmelo Cannizzaro also recorded a personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a time of 8:39.39 to finish fourth overall.
Another highlight came on day three, when the women's 4x1500-meter relay team set a new program record. Odilia Jepchumba, Faith Nyathi, Privillege Chikara and Eleanor Towe combined for a time of 18:33.77, breaking the previous record of 19:01.81 set in 2017.

The Blue Raiders return to the mid-state for their final meet before the Conference USA Outdoor Championships. They will compete at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.
