Middle Tennessee Takes a 4-0 Win over Western Kentucky on Senior Day

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Western Kentucky University 4–0 for senior day and the last home match of 2025.
The Blue Raiders secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and two, setting the tone early in the match. On court two, Rutuja Chaphalkar and Alessia Truden teamed up for a strong 6–4 win over WKU's Emily Schut and Mariana Zegada. That momentum carried over to court one, where Lena Peyer and Eloise Swarbrick clinched the doubles point with a 6–3 victory over Sofia Blanco and Rachel Hermanova.
The Blue Raiders went into singles with a 1-0 lead over WKU.
In singles play, MTSU continued to control the match. On court two, Ilaria Sposetti gave the Blue Raiders their second point with a convincing 6–4, 6–2 win over Sofia Blanco. Shortly after, Zenn Lim extended the lead to 3–0 with a 6–3, 6–3 victory over Elizabeth Sobieski on court six.
The match was clinched by Alessia Truden, who battled past WKU's top singles player, Rachel Hermanova, in straight sets, 6–3, 7–6(2), on court one. With this win, Truden remains unbeaten at home in singles, going 9-0 this season.

"It was a good day and a good win against WKU today. I am proud of the ladies staying consistent with our never give up and fight for every point mentality. This was a conference win that we needed as we finish the regular season. We are looking forward to finishing on a good note this weekend in Texas."
