Middle Tennessee Set to Take on No. 16 Duke in the NCAA Tournament

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee State is gearing up for the first round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament in Knoxville.
After clinching a sixth consecutive Conference USA title and earning an NCAA tournament berth, MTSU is set to face No. 16 Duke in the opening round. Alabama State and host Tennessee also join the field for the Knoxville regional.
Duke leads the all-time series against MTSU 3-1 and won the most recent meeting in 2024 with a 4-0 sweep. The Blue Raiders are aiming for redemption and hoping to make a deep tournament run.
Scouting Duke
The Blue Devils enter the NCAA tournament ranked No. 16 in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. They finished the regular season with an 18-8 record and reached the ACC semifinals, where they fell to Stanford, 4-2. Notable wins this season include victories over Notre Dame, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Harvard.
Key players to watch include Conor Krug, Pedro Rodenas, and Cooper Williams. In doubles, the pairing of Williams and Andreja Petrovic is expected to lead the way for Duke.
First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m. CDT / 10 a.m. EDT at the Goodfriend Tennis Complex in Knoxville, Tennessee.
