MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's soccer opens its 29th season Thursday with a matchup against the Belmont Bruins at 6:30 p.m. at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
History vs. Belmont
The Blue Raiders face Belmont for the 17th time in program history, holding a 10-7-2 all-time advantage. Last season, MTSU fell 1-2 at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium on Aug. 18, 2024.
About Middle Tennessee
Sophomore Demi Gronauer returns after being named to the 2024 Conference USA All-Tournament Team. She recorded five shutouts and averaged 4.79 saves per match, the second-most in the conference.
Senior Idun Kvaale also returns after earning 2024 All-CUSA Third Team honors. She scored five goals, second-most on the team, and added three assists.
Head coach Aston Rhoden enters his 24th season at the helm. The Jamaica native has guided MTSU to three conference championships and carries a 214-179-42 career record.
The 2025 roster features 11 freshmen and 12 seniors and graduate students, mixing veteran leadership with young talent.

Belmont's win over Middle Tennessee on Aug. 18, 2024, was the program's first against the Blue Raiders since 2017.
Sydney Jones, also a senior, earned All-MVC Third Team honors after starting 19 matches. Her 85 saves and .817 save percentage ranked second in the MVC. Freshmen Ava Labocki and Reagan Ross earned All-MVC Third Team and All-Freshman honors. The duo has scored 11 of Belmont's 24 goals this season, with Labocki leading the team with six goals and 13 points.
Head coach Kelsey Cameron is in her third season with the Bruins and holds a 62-56-28 career record.
