Durbin and Deidesheimer named to All-Tournament Team after 2-1 finish in Oxford

OXFORD, Ohio – Middle Tennessee Volleyball leaves Oxford on a high note after taking down Southern Indiana to finish the Miami/Best Western Invitational 2-1. The Blue Raiders won a hard fought battle against the Screaming Eagles in four sets. The set scores of the match were as follows: 32-30, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22.
Middle Tennessee saw great performances on all sides of the ball, with six Blue Raiders combining for eight double-digit stat performances, Caroline Macander and Raegan Durbin both securing double-doubles. Raegan Durbin, Gabby Clinkscale and Payton Deidesheimer led the Blue Raiders offensively with 18, 12, and 10 kills respectively, Clinkscale's 12 kills a career high. Caroline Macander notched 35 assists, Isil Yilmaz and Danit Cohen both contributing six.
The Blue Raiders defense posted 71 digs against the Screaming Eagles, Marie Lowell, Isil Yilmaz, Caroline Macander and Raegan Durbin all tallying double-digit digs. Yilmaz led the way with 21 digs, a season high, and Lowell and Durbin both setting new career highs with 14 a piece.
At the conclusion of the weekend, Durbin and Deidesheimer were named to the Miami/Best Western Invitational All-Tournament Team. Durbin totaled 56 kills, 34 digs, two service aces and five total blocks. Deidesheimer posted 32 kills and 14 total blocks, averaging a .329 efficiency across the three matches of the Invitational.
By the Numbers
53: Middle Tennessee had 53 kills against Southern Indiana, the third highest team kills performance of the season.
8: Eight Blue Raiders combined to total eight double-digit stat lines in each of the three matches of the invitational, combining for 24 double-digit contributions on the weekend.
3: Marie Lowell bested her career high digs for the third time this weekend, posting 14 digs against Southern Indiana.
