Middle Tennessee Falls to Lipscomb, 4–3

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee earned the doubles point and picked up three singles wins but was defeated 4–3 by Lipscomb on Sunday as the match was decided in three sets on court four.
In doubles, Lena Peyer and Zen Lim achieved the first victory by defeating Lipscomb's Kameliia Tytarenko and Mariia Dolzhenko 6-0 on court three.
The second match to conclude saw Sofiia Paladi and Deborah Dominguez claim a 6-3 win over MTSU's Zora Koenig and Sara Conde.
The doubles point was secured on court five, where Sthefany Lima and Rutuja Chaphalkar defeated Lipscomb's Martina Bovio and Serafima Bobrovnikova 6-4. MTSU initially led 5-2, but Lipscomb responded with a two-game run before MTSU clinched the doubles point.
In singles competition on court two, Chaphalkar lost to Dolzhenko, with a score of 0-6, 0-6.
On court one, Lipscomb's Mariia Dolzhenko contributed the first point for the Bisons with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Chaphalkar.
Lipscomb's Paladi also won in straight sets on court one, defeating Middle Tennessee's Lena Peyer, 6-4, 6-1. Peyer came back from a 1-4 deficit to close to 5-4, but Lipscomb secured the first set. In the second set, Peyer broke to lead 5-1, but it was not sufficient, as Lipscomb took a 2-1 team lead.
Middle Tennessee secured its first singles point on court three, where freshman Lima overcame Dominguez Collado, 6-2, 6-4. Although Dominguez broke back to narrow the second set to 5-4, Lima ultimately sealed the victory and tied the match at 2-2.
Lim achieved the Blue Raiders' second singles win on court six by defeating Sofiia Zhylchuk, 6-4, 6-2. The first set was competitive, with Lipscomb attempting to close the gap at 5-4, but Lim took the set and subsequently won five consecutive games before Zhylchuk broke back. Lim finished strong, giving MTSU a 3-2 advantage.
The Bisons evened the singles matches on court five, where Bobrovnikova came back to defeat Conde, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0, resulting in a tie at 3-3.
