DALLAS – Following a breakout performance against WKU, Middle Tennessee freshman guard Macie Phifer has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Phifer, a native of New Albany, Mississippi, earned the honor after turning in one the best game of her career. The rookie poured in a career-high 21 points, leading all freshmen, while adding six rebounds, an assist and a block. She was efficient at the free-throw line, knocking down 6-of-8 attempts, and played a key role on both ends of the floor.
This marks her third Freshman of the Week award of the season and the program's 11th Freshman of the Week award this year – tying the CUSA record for most Freshmen of the Week (Rice in 2011 & LA Tech in 2024).
