Blue Raiders back on the road to face Sam Houston

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Middle Tennessee Softball continues its stretch on the road with Conference USA foe Sam Houston. The Blue Raiders will take on the Bearkats in a three-game CUSA series with game one starting at 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, March 27 at the Bearkat Softball Complex.
Blue Raider Notes
- Macie Harter stands at the top of NCAA Division 1 in defensive runs saved with 11.3 so far this season.
- Braelyn Hall and Halle Klaiber combined for seven punch outs in game three at WKU, the most in six innings of work that the Blue Raider staff has posted this season.
- Onnika Spencer and Sabria Ritto led Middle Tennessee at the plate in Bowling Green; Spencer batted .375 and slugged 1.250 with a double, two home runs and four RBI, Ritto batted .400, slugged .600 and knocked her first career double against the Hilltoppers.
- The Blue Raiders have homered in 10 of their last 12 games, including a stretch of eight consecutive games with a home run and seven multi-home run games.
Bearkat Notes
- Sam Houston enters the weekend with a 21-14 record overall and a 6-3 mark in Conference USA under the leadership of Garrett Valis in his eighth season.
- Sam Houston won their most recent CUSA series against the Kennesaw State Owls two games to one. The Bearkats solidified the series win in run-rule fashion with a season high four homers against the Owls in game three.
- Veronica Harrison leads the Bearkats at the plate, recently tying the single-season home run record for Sam Houston with 13.
- Tiffany Sanchez is the best in the circle for Sam Houston, holding a 2.79 ERA and a 8-5 record in 16 appearances. The sophomore right-hander leads the team in strikeouts with 65 on the season.
Series History
The series between Middle Tennessee and Sam Houston is 2-4 all-time in favor of the Bearkats. The last time the two teams met was for a regular season CUSA series in 2025 where the Blue Raiders took the series two games to one.
