Blue Raiders Fall 4-3 at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – Middle Tennessee (6-13, 1-5) lost to Kennesaw State (9-5, 1-0) 4-3, in a road match on Friday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders started strong, securing an early lead in the doubles matches and winning the doubles point to take a 1-0 advantage. Rutuja Chaphalkar and Zora Koenig recorded a 6-1 victory on court two, while Lena Peyer and Zenn Lim edged out a 7-6 win on court three.
In singles play, Koenig was the first to finish but fell to Ema Baraniakova with a score of 6-1, 6-3, tying the match at 1-1. The Blue Raiders then secured two additional points on court five and court six, with Sadbaroy Kholdarova defeating Terezia Baraniakova 6-4, 6-0. After a tight start at 4-4, Kholdarova won the next two games to take the second set decisively. Lim also secured a win on court six, finishing with a score of 6-4, 6-3, after multiple ties in both sets.
Kennesaw State responded with two more points to level the match at 3-3. Peyer lost on court one with scores of 6-3, 3-6, 1-6, and Sara Conde was defeated on court four 6-3, 7-6. The deciding point came on court three, where Sthefany Lima won the first set 7-6 but subsequently lost the second set 4-6 and the third set 2-6.
