BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Middle Tennessee (6-14, 1-6 CUSA) fell 4-2 to Western Kentucky (11-13, 2-2 CUSA) on Thursday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders dropped the doubles point but responded with two wins in singles play. Lena Peyer rallied for a three-set victory at No. 1, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5, while Zora Koenig earned a straight-sets win at No. 2, 6-4, 6-3.
Western Kentucky secured the match on three courts. Sthefany Lima fell to Virginia Madueno in straight sets on court three, 6-3, 6-2, and Sara Conde dropped a three-set decision to Barbara Olvera at No. 4, 0-6, 6-2, 6-0. Ariadna Fernandez clinched the match for WKU with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win over Sadbaroy Kholdarova at court 5.
The match on court six between Zenn Lim and Elizabeth Sobieski went unfinished, with Lim leading in the third set, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 3-1.
