MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee fell 4-1 to Louisiana Tech before bouncing back with a 7-0 sweep against Tennessee State in a midweek doubleheader.
Against Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech took an early lead by winning the doubles point. The No. 70-ranked team of Zoie Epps and Isabella Walker scored a 6-4 victory against sophomore Sara Conde and freshman Zora Koenig on court one, while Alice Brook and Maria Tsironi secured the point with another 6-4 win over senior Rutuja Chaphalkar and freshman Sthefany Lima at court two
Middle Tennessee's only point came from Koenig on court two. After losing the first set 6-4 to Nina Skoric, Koenig bounced back to win the next two sets 6-3, 6-3, giving the Blue Raiders their sole point of the match.
The Bulldogs clinched the team win with singles victories on courts one, four, and six. LA Tech's Epps defeated Lena Peyer 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1, Tsironi beat Conde 6-2, 6-3 on court four, and Walker came back to win against Lim with a score of 0-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6, securing the match.

Middle Tennessee secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Rutuja Chaphalkar and Sthefany Lima defeated Julie Tungamarial and Natalie Walsh 6-4 at No. 2, while senior Zenn Lim and junior Lena Peyer cruised to a 6-1 victory over Arrieta Castillo and Taylor Ellis on court three.
In singles play, the Blue Raiders controlled every court. Peyer opened the scoring with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tungamarial at court one , followed by a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory from Koenig on court two against Cooksey.
Lima added another point with a 6-1, 6-0 win at court three against Walsh, while Chaphalkar defeated Murdasanu 6-4, 6-0 on court five. Lim delivered the most decisive result of the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Ellis at No. 6.
Conde closed out the sweep on court four, rallying from a first-set loss to defeat Castillo 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-3). After losing the first set, the Argentinian native came back strong, tying it up at 6-6 and taking the tiebreaker. They never fell behind in the second set and clinched the match in a 10-point tiebreaker.
