FRISCO, Texas – Following a two-hour long rain delay, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team finished round two in fifth place, turning in a 301 to sit at 597 overall. While the conditions were less than ideal, the Blue Raiders were able to find composure and remain in the hunt for the championship.
After a tumultuous opening day for Ella Manley, the junior bounced back in great fashion, shooting a team-low two-under 70 on Tuesday. Her round was the only one for any competitor below par and skyrocketed her to third at 145 through two days. Manley dropped in four birdies and just one double in her second round.
Caroline Pardue also found herself on the come up following round two, finishing just above par at 73 (+1) Tuesday. The round was leaps and bounds better than her opening round that saw her shoot nine over par. At +10, she ranks 33rd overall, but will look to continue to climb in the final round.
Isabella Johnson and Abbie Lee both turned in a 79 (+7). The rainy conditions provided difficult shots for the student-athletes, who are ready to put that round behind them and make some moves in Wednesday's third round.
Jillian Bowman is also looking to bounce back on the last day after a few big numbers put her at eight over on the day as the non-countable round.
