Horn Jr. named CUSA Pitcher of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- Senior right-hander David Horn Jr. was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on May 18. This is Middle Tennessee baseball's third CUSA weekly award of the season, and the first of Horn's career.
Horn turned in 7.0 innings of one-run ball in the Blue Raiders' 8-1 win over Liberty on Thursday night. The Mission Viejo, California native racked up nine strikeouts, which ties a career high. This marks the third time this season the right-hander struck out nine batters.
This outing pushed Horn to 68.1 innings on his senior season, and 79 strikeouts. Both marks lead the Blue Raiders, and place the right-hander in the top ten of CUSA.

The Blue Raiders are hitting the road to Kennesaw, Georgia for the CUSA Baseball Championship. Middle Tennessee drew the nine seed, placing them in Pool A along with Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky. Game one is slated for 12:30 p.m. CDT on May 20 against WKU, with game two against Jax State at 12:30 on May 21.
