Blue Raiders fall in final contest of 2026

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball (21-30, 7-20 CUSA) fell in its final contest of the season to FIU (34-17, 16-11 CUSA) by a score of 15-2 in six innings.
The game started off as a battle; both teams held scoreless after the first inning of play. FIU struck first in the top of the second, but Middle Tennessee had an answer; the Blue Raiders sending two runs across the plate off the bat of Lexi Medlock to take a 2-1 lead. Middle Tennessee would not score again; the Blue Raiders recorded just two more hits as a team after the second inning.
Tori Coffman got the start in the circle for Middle Tennessee, pitching 3.2 innings, striking out one and recording the loss. Braelyn Hall entered the game in relief, striking out two in her 2.1 innings of work.
By the Numbers
- 2: Two Blue Raiders recorded extra base hits, Avery Wynne and Adaeze Nwogbo both knocking doubles against the Panthers.
- 5: Seniors Lexi Medlock, Ansley Blevins, Lani Jones, Tori Coffman and Onnika Spencer all started against FIU as they played the final game of their careers today.
- 62: Middle Tennessee finished the season with 62 home runs as a team, that marks the second most in program history, just shy of the record set last year of 64, and the second most in Conference USA this season.
