Minnick inks UDFA deal with Phillies

PHILADELPHIA- Former Blue Raider catcher Tyler Minnick has inked a free agent deal with the Philadelphia Phillies following the 2026 MLB Draft.
Minnick's signing follows a stellar senior season. The Smyrna, Georgia product tallied a league-high .916 OPS for a catcher, on his way to a 2026 All-CUSA second team selection.
The catcher's strong senior campaign was highlighted by a program-record 43-game on-base streak, while tying the single game record for doubles in a game with three.
The two-year Blue Raider cleaned up in the awards department in his final collegiate season. Along with the All-CUSA second team selection, Minnick was named to the CUSA All-Academic Team, while earning the CUSA Spirit of Service Award and the CUSA Scholar Athlete of the Year for baseball.
Minnick's signing comes after the 2026 MLB Draft, where the Blue Raiders had a record three players selected in the 20 round draft. It marks the first time since 2018 three Middle Tennessee players were selected.
