MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Junior goalkeeper Demi Gronauer has been named the Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Gronauer made a season-high two saves against UT Martin, as she extended her streak holding opponents scoreless to 363 straight minutes. The American shot-stopper achieved two clean sheets against UT Martin and UWG, bringing her career total to nine and tied for seventh all-time with Sydney Chalcraft (2016-19). She also contributed in her team's build-up play, connecting both long balls she attempted and registering a 100% pass accuracy against UT Martin.
Following her efforts this week, Middle Tennessee has remained unbeaten through four matches (3-0-1) and has not conceded a goal in its first four matches of a season for the first time in program history. MTSU also represents one of six Division I programs to both complete four contests and maintain a perfect defensive record (Northeastern, Long Beach State, Wake Forest, Saint Mary's (CA), Oklahoma).
Gronauer's recognition is the second of her career, after she was named to the 2024 CUSA All-Tournament Team.
Elsewhere in CUSA, Delaware's Maggie Groh won Offensive Player of the Week and WKU's April McDonald took home Defensive Player of the Week honors.
