Dlouhá, Garcia Take Home Weekly Conference Honors

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Following a two-win opening weekend at UNC Asheville, Michaela Dlouhá and Marianne Garcia earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors for the Middle Tennessee volleyball team Monday.
Dlouhá took home Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting 19 blocks on the weekend, which leads CUSA after the opening weekend of the campaign.
Dlouhá also was an offensive threat, picking up 31 kills with a .456 hitting percentage. The Pardubice, Czechia native leads the team in kills.
Garcia took home Freshman of the Week in her debut collegiate weekend. The product of Phoenix, Ariz. led the Blue Raiders with 43 digs and was second on the team with 38 receptions.
Middle Tennessee started the season 2-1 after defeating Boise State twice. The Blue Raiders head north to Nashville Friday to Sunday, continuing their season at the Belmont Invitational.
