Britt completed his second season as a volunteer assistant coach, after being promoted in July 2016 announced head coach Jim McGuire.
In 2018, Britt remained the team’s volunteer assistant and was the Blue Raider’s first base coach.
Last season Britt served as the program’s Director of Baseball Operations and he retained his duties as DBO, along with his duties as a volunteer assistant.
His role as volunteer assistant includes working with the outfielders and hitters, along with field maintenance.
Britt who was hired as Director of Baseball Operations back in the summer of 2015, assists with coordinating on-campus recruiting, academic achievement, camps, alumni correspondence, player development programs, team travel, equipment management and scouting reports.
Prior to his arrival at Middle Tennessee, Britt played baseball at Maryville College for three years. His senior year, after finishing his eligibility as a player junior year, he was hired as the program’s assistant coach and Director of Baseball Operations in 2014-15. He primarily worked with infielders and catchers, developing six all-conference performers and an ABCA First Team All-American. He also developed the school’s first ever MLB draft pick, shortstop Nick Dean (32nd round, L.A. Dodgers).
After graduating high school, Britt started his own 18U summer travel baseball team, East Tennessee Select Baseball. He was the owner, director, and head coach of the team from 2011-15. During his time coaching, he developed 26 student-athletes into college baseball players, lead the team to a .777 winning percentage over four years, organized and directed multiple camps and tournaments every summer.
Britt has worked with some of the top baseball camps in the country, including Vanderbilt, University of Virginia, Tom Griffin Elite Catching, Ohio Elite, and the University of Tennessee camps.
The Maryville, Tenn. native, graduated from Maryville College in 2015 with a B.A. in Political Science and History.
