Dana Marquez, who joined Derek Mason’s staff during the 2024 campaign as the interim associate athletic director for equipment, was elevated to associate athletic director of equipment and football general manager in May 2025. Marquez is the program’s first-ever GM.
Middle Tennessee – associate athletic director for equipment and general manager (2025-Present)
• Oversee’s football salary cap management, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Collective operations, and Internal NIL Collective budgets
• Oversee’s all aspects of athletic equipment, sports performance technology, and financial management related to football operations
• Also collaborates with sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and nutrition staff to research and implement the latest performance-enhancing and injury-prevention technologies
Auburn – associate athletic director for equipment (2006-2023)
• Coordinated equipment and the purchasing, fitting, inventory, and maintenance needs for 21-varsity teams along with providing guidance to other areas in the Athletic Department
• Supervised nine full-time Assistant Equipment Managers, and 34 student assistants
• Handled the allocation, disbursement, and oversight of the Athletic Department's $80+ million dollar Under Armour contract
• Was the liaison between Auburn University's Licensing Department and Athletic Department providing the approvals on all logoed apparel for practice and competition, and ensured the Athletic Department followed all licensing policies and procedures
California, Berkeley – director of equipment operations (2002-2005)
• Was responsible for coordinating equipment, and overseeing the purchasing, fitting, inventory, maintenance needs, and apparel for California, Berkeley's 27 varsity teams
• Handled the Athletic Department's equipment budget, and oversaw the allocation and disbursement of the department's Nike apparel contract
• Supervised four full-time Assistant Equipment Managers and 10 student assistants

• Managed day-to-day operations of the football equipment room
• Recruited and supervised student managers while ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Prepared equipment for practices and games
