Ethan Black joined the Blue Raider men’s basketball program as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2016.
During his first season with the program, the Blue Raiders recorded their best season in school history with a 31-5 record and a first-round win in the NCAA tournament against Minnesota.
Prior to arriving at Middle Tennessee, Black played four years at Division III Hanover College where he started 17 games at point guard. During his four-year career, the Panthers’ averaged just over 16 wins and continued the program’s streak of eight consecutive winning seasons.
Black earned his B.A. in health and movement studies from Hanover College in the spring of 2016 and is now working on his M.S. in leisure and sport management.
He played high school basketball in Indiana at Evansville Day School where he led his team to its first ever sectional title and finished fourth all-time in scoring with 1,292 points. He graduated from Evansville Day School in 2012.
Black was born May 30, 1993 in Knoxville, Tenn., and also works in Murfreesboro as a part-time wellness coach helping a wide variety of clients meet their fitness goals.
Black’s Grandparents, Reza and Margaret Ordoubadian, were both professors in the English department at Middle Tennessee for over 20 years.
