Charlendez Brooks
- Title:
- Graduate Assistant
Charlendez Brooks joined Nick McDevitt and the Blue Raiders as a Graduate Assistant in August of 2024.
Brooks is no stranger to McDevitt and staff, having previously played at Western Carolina University from 2013-17 under Ohio Hall of Fame Coach Larry Hunter while competing annually against McDevitt when he was the head coach at UNC Asheville. Brooks attended Western Carolina with two current Blue Raider coaches (Rob Burlingham and Eric Wilson) and was known for his defensive prowess for the Catamount front court. In Brooks' first season in the Purple and Gold, he helped lead the Catamounts to the South Conference Championship game versus Wofford. During his tenure, Brooks found himself starting in a handful of games, providing post defense for Hunter and the Catamounts.
A native of Duncan, S.C., Brooks graduated from Western Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in studio art. Since graduation, he has been coaching in the high school and AAU ranks in both head and assistant coaching roles.
