Head Men's Golf Coach Mark McEntire announced the hiring of Cody Proveaux as Middle Tennessee's new assistant men's golf coach on July 31, 2020.
A former professional golfer and collegiate standout at Clemson, Proveaux brings a strong record of success as both a player and coach at multiple levels to the Blue Raider program.
Proveaux's resume includes six mini-tour victories as a professional as well as appearances on both the PGA and Web.com (now Korn Ferry) Tours. An All-ACC performer, he was also a member of four NCAA Regional teams at Clemson and helped the Tigers reach the NCAA National Championships twice in a career that included 11 Top 10 finishes and six Top 5 finishes.
A former No. 1 ranked junior in the country, Proveaux won the 2011 AJGA Rolex Player of the Year – the same year he won the Junior PGA Championship at Sycamore Hills Country Club – and has competed in five U.S. Juniors and three U.S. Amateurs.
After concluding his playing career, Proveaux got his start in coaching at VCU, where he began as an assistant coach in the fall of 2018. His impact was nearly immediate as he helped the Rams capture the 2019 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and reach NCAA Regionals while helping two VCU players collect All-Atlantic 10 honors.
A Leesville, S.C., native, Proveaux earned his undergraduate degree in sociology with a minor in athletic leadership from Clemson (2017), where he was a member of the Dean's List twice.
A two-time recipient of the Jay Haas award – given to the top junior golfer in South Carolina – while competing for Pelion High School, Proveaux now sponsors a scholarship that benefits Pelion student-athletes.
