Fall
• Won over Dmitry Shatalin of No. 60 Penn in three sets in the season-opening Penn Invitational
• Went on a seven-match win streak from Sept. 23 to Oct. 13
• Enjoyed three wins in as many days at the Dick LaLance Showdown and followed that up by advancing to the quarterfinals of the Louisville Scramble
Spring
• Was a perfect 5-0 in the spring season, with two wins coming at No. 4 and No. 5 to go with one win at the bottom of the lineup
• Buitrago was also 5-1 in doubles in the spring, including four wins with Max Rauch and one win at No. 3 with Gian Issa
• Did not drop a singles set in any of the five matches he competed in
• Won over Chattanooga on Jan. 15 and UTSA on Jan. 28 as the two marquee wins in 2018

• Opened his career with a win over Chattanooga's Paul LaHue, 6-3, 6-2, at the Dale Short Shootout
• Earned victories over opponents from Belmont and Lipscomb at the Dick LaLance Showdown
• Advanced to the Round of 64 at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional with a win over Carlos Tajes of Tennessee Tech, 6-2, 6-3
Spring
• Won his only match at No. 5 against Alabama A&M's Jarib Beazer, 6-1, 6-1
• Won at No. 6 over UAB's Kenton Parton at the MT Shootout, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5)
• The doubles combo of freshmen Max Rauch and Nicolas Buitrago Machado posted a 7-11 record on the year, including three wins at No. 2 and four wins on the last doubles court
• The pair was 2-0 in matches that went to a tiebreak, winning 7-6 (7-5) over Florida Atlantic’s Anthony Schonn and Alexander Gitin, along with a 7-6 (7-4) win over Charlotte in the quarterfinals of the C-USA Championship against Sam Rice and Leonardo Menezes
• The duo clinched the doubles points over Western Michigan, Drake, Pacific, Valpo, William & Mary, and Charlotte, and four of those matches ended in wins for the Blue Raiders

• While in Columbia, he earned a national ranking of No. 18 in January 2013
