Blake Clifton joined Middle Tennessee State athletics as an athletic communications assistant in October 2020. He serves as the primary contact for volleyball, cross country, track and field, and secondary contact for women's basketball.
Before his time at Middle Tennessee State, Clifton was a sports information intern at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. He served as the primary contact for baseball, men's basketball, men's golf, men's lacrosse, women's soccer, and women's tennis and helped manage the Lander Athletics social media platforms.
Clifton founded JoCoPreps.com and spent a year covering high school sporting events throughout Johnston County, N.C. before joining Lander's sports information staff.
Before his time with JoCo Preps, Clifton worked as a student assistant with NC State Athletic Communications, where he worked a variety of sports. Clifton also served as a media assistant for the Atlantic Coast Conference's special events, working multiple championships for the ACC.
A native of Smithfield, N.C., Clifton earned his B.A. in Communication with a concentration in media from North Carolina State University.
Clifton is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
