Lady Raider Volleyball Defeats Arkansas State

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - After losing the first game, the Middle Tennessee Lady Raider volleyball team won the next three games to defeat Arkansas State University 18-30, 30-28, 30-24, 30-21 Friday night in Murphy Center.
Junior Erin Hillstrom, from Dallas, TX, had a career high four service aces in the match and also had 10 digs. Junior Katie Thiesen led all scorers with 18 kills on 39 attacks, with just five errors and also had one service ace. Sophomore setter tied her career high in digs with 13 and also had 21 set assists for the match.
Overall, the Lady Raiders had 13 service aces, but was hampered with 14 service errors. The team's hitting percentage overall was .143, but it was far better then Arkansas State who hit a meager .088.
Middle Tennessee improves to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference while Arkansas State falls to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The Lady Raiders will host Arkansas-Little Rock at 11 a.m. on Sunday in Murphy Center.
