MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Senior Godfrey Herring, sophomore Chris Koger and the men's 4x100m relay team all qualified for the NCAA Championships, set for May 29-June 1 in Baton Rouge, La. on the LSU campus.
Herring, who qualified in the 400m and as part of the relay squad, will be aiming for the fifth All-American honor of his career. He is the only four-time All-American in Middle Tennessee track history.
The senior from Pontiac, Mich., ran 45.60 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., in mid-April. His time is the ninth fastest in the nation this season.
The relay team of DJ Spann, Mardy Scales, Wesley Dupar-Scott and Herring posted a qualifying time of 39.57 at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in late March. The time is tied for ninth-fastest in the country this year.
Sophomore Koger, the LaVergne, Tenn., product, cleared 7-1.75 on two occasions this season, at the Auburn Invitational in mid-March and then again at the Sea Ray Relays the next month. It will be Koger's first appearance in the NCAA Championships.
