Cross Country Heads to Louisville

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee cross country teams swing back into action Saturday, competing against 19 other teams at the Cardinal XC Classic in Louisville, Ky.
Action begins at 10 a.m. ET with the women's 5K race at the University of Louisville's Shelby Campus, followed by the men's 8K race at 10:45 a.m. Other school participating include: Alabama-Huntsville, Bellarmine, Campbellsville, Centre College, Danville Area College, Eastern Kentucky, EKU Club team, Evansville, Fleet Feet Club team, Georgetown College, Kentucky, Kentucky State, Lindsey Wilson College, Louisville, Marian (Ind.) College, Miami (OH) - women, Samford, Tennessee - men and Vanderbilt - women.
"The men have run well to this point, especially Geoffrey Lagat and [freshman] David Hughes, as well as Zack Wood," head coach Dean Hayes said. "We just have to continue getting better each week as we prepare for the Sun Belt Championships.
"For the women, [freshmen] Kim Alsobrook and Lauren Milbourn have run well, but right now we're really looking for a fifth runner. We'll keep working these next two meets before the Sun Belt meet."
Both squads will run at the UTC Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn., on October 18 before the Hardee's Sun Belt Championships in Bowling Green, Ky., November 1.
