Deckard Records 24 Kills in Lady Raider Win

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Junior KeKe Deckard recorded 24 kills in Middle Tennessee volleyball's 3-2 (30-21, 27-30, 28-30, 30-23, 15-12) win over Arkansas State Friday in Alumni Memorial Gym.
The Lady Raiders are now riding a four-match winning streak and improves to 4-7 in the Sun Belt Conference and 13-16 overall. Arkansas State falls to 7-5 in the Sun Belt and 19-9 overall.
In game five, Deckard recorded her 24th kill of the night at the best possible time as the Lady Raiders were at match point 14-12 and Arkansas State was making a comeback. After receiving a set by junior Goldie Bilyeu, Dekcard knocked over a monster kills to seal the game and the match.
As the Sun Belt race heats up the Lady Raiders stayed in contention for a berth in the eight-team Sun Belt Tournament. Currently Middle Tennessee is tied for seventh place.
Bilyeu continues to play well as she recorded her second double-double with 52 set assists and 16 digs. Senior Karisse Baker was the only other Lady Raider who recorded double figure kills with 12 and junior Dara McLean also assisted Middle Tennessee with three service aces.
The Lady Raiders will try and continue to ride their streak as the team hosts Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Gym.
