MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee softball begins a two-game home stand on Wednesday when the Lady Raiders host the University of Evansville at 3 p.m. for a double header at Lady Raider Field.
The Lady Raiders haven't played since splitting with UAB on March 12 at home. Their 11-6 record is the best by a Middle Tennessee softball team since 2000, when that team also posted the same record in their first 17 games.
Middle Tennessee was scheduled to play Evansville earlier in the year, at the Evansville Invitational, but inclement weather caused the Purple Aces' coaches to cancel the tournament. Overall, the Lady Raiders are 5-2 against Evansville.
Senior hurler Stayc Preator leads the Lady Raiders on the mound. The right-hander from El Cajon, California was named Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for last week. She has logged a 6-2 record in 10 appearances and has 61 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched.
Middle Tennessee players and coaches will welcome back participants in their summer camps and clinics over the year during the game with Evansville. Each one in attendance will receive a media guide and will be able to obtain autographs from players in between games.
