Owusu Takes Eighth at World Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Middle Tennessee track assistant Andrew Owusu finished eighth in the triple jump Monday at the 9th Annual IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Paris, France.
Owusu jumped 55-3.75 to take eighth Monday afternoon in Paris for his native Ghana. The Blue Raider graduate assistant coach had a mark of 55-5 in Saturday's qualification round to make the finals.
Former Blue Raider Christian Nsiah will also represent Ghana during the World Championships, running on a relay this weekend.
Current Middle Tennessee team members Rosemary Okafor and Victor Okorie will represent Nigeria at the Championships, as well, with Okafor running on a relay and Okorie set for the intermediate hurdles.
