Blue Raiders Shine at Outdoor Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee recorded multiple wins, podium finishes and personal records over two days at the Music City Challenge, highlighted by standout efforts from Viktoria Rusnakova, Moses Lekokei and the men's 4x100 relay team.
Rusnakova finished second in the Women's Long Jump with 5.70 meters, while Laura Odivwri placed third at 5.66 meters. Hailee Gorham set a personal record in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:25.97. Chidinma Agu ran 23.59 in the Women's 200m. In the Men's 200m, Evan Tomlinson finished in 21.41 for a PR, and Jonathan Harris achieved a personal best of 21.55. Viviana Salonia completed the Women's 1500m in 4:39.93 for a PR, and Lauren Cole set a personal best at 4:45.38. Faith Nyathi placed third in the Women's 5000m with 16:04.75. In the Men's 5000m, Lekokei won with 14:12.81, and Solomon Sayo finished second at 14:18.46.
On day two, Joel Iheakolam won the Men's Triple Jump with 14.94 meters, and Rusnakova took first in the Women's Triple Jump at 12.49 meters. The Men's 4x100 relay team with James Thomas Jr., Mustapha Bokpin, Jonathan Harris, and Evan Tomlinson secured first place with a time of 39.70. Chidinma Agu won the Women's 400m in 52.44, while Julia Peebles set a personal record at 1:05.75. James Thomas Jr. finished second in the Men's 400m with 46.68. Tamia Waters placed third in the Women's 100m Hurdles with 13.84. Evan Tomlinson won the Men's 100m in 10.49. In the Women's 800m, Emma Thomas ran 2:16.88 for a personal best, and Laila Williams set a personal record at 2:24.53. Ross Evans also set a personal record in the Men's 800m, finishing in 1:55.64.
