Blue Raiders Collect Gold, Silver and Bronze at CUSA Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee was led by sophomore Mustapha Bokpin on the final day of the 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as he captured two gold medals, meet records, and Men's High Point Scorer honors.
Junior Joel Iheakolam soared to a bronze medal in the triple jump, landing at 15.52 meters and claiming the #71 spot in the DI College Outdoor Rankings.
Bokpin electrified the track with a personal best of 9.94 seconds in the 100m, meeting the Olympic qualifying standard, breaking the meet record, and soaring to #5 in the 2026 DI College Outdoor Rankings. He followed up with a dominant win in the 200m, setting another personal and meet record at 20.26 seconds. Bokpin's stellar performance earned him the title of CUSA High Point Scorer.
Moses Lekokei raced to victory in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:22.41, while Faith Nyathi claimed silver in the same event, finishing in 16:28.57.

Bopkin, James Thomas Jr., Jonathan Harris, and Evan Tomlinson sped to second place in the men's 4x100 relay, finishing in 39.72 seconds. Privillege Chikara won two silver medals, placing second in both the 1500m (4:17.63) and the Women's 800m. Tamia Waters earned a bronze in the Women's 100m hurdles, beating her personal best with a time of 13.69 seconds. Chidinma Agu also broke her own record, finishing second in 51.88 seconds and moving up to #37 in the DI College Outdoor Rankings.
