Middle Tennessee Set to Host 2026 CUSA Outdoor Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee is set to host the 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 14-16 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Middle Tennessee: Track Athletes to Watch for
Mustapha Bokpin, Zenade October, and Moses Lekokei each received CUSA Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors this season.
Bokpin was named CUSA Track Athlete of the Week for three weeks in a row (April 7, 14, and 21). He is currently ranked eighth in the nation for the 200 meters and 19th for the 100 meters.
Viktoria Rusnakova took second place in the women's triple jump at the Tennessee Invite with a personal best of 12.46 meters. At the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge, she finished second in the women's long jump with a 5.70-meter jump, then won the triple jump the next day with 12.49 meters. Earlier in the season at the Yellow Jacket Invite, she competed in the long jump and placed fifth.
At the Tennessee Invite, October won the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:08.65. In the women's 4x400-meter relay, October, Chidinma Agu, Mariah Ivery, and Courtney Green finished with a time of 3:41.81, ranking 66th in the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor standings.
Faith Nyathi finished third in the women's 5,000 meters at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge with a time of 16:04.75. She also placed 30th in the women's 10,000-meter invitational at the Raleigh Relays, running 34:03.71.
Lekokei won the men's 5,000 meters at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge with a time of 14:12.81, and freshman Solomon Sayo came in second at 14:18.46. At the Raleigh Relays, Lekokei ran the 10,000 meters in 29:09.05, finishing 18th overall and first in his section.
Joel Iheakolam won the men's triple jump at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge with a mark of 14.94 meters. Earlier in the season at the Yellow Jacket Invite, he posted a team-best 6.90 meters in the men's long jump.
Agu won both the women's 400 meters and the 200 meters at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge. Earlier at the Yellow Jacket Invite, she took second in the 200 meters with a personal best of 24.01.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team, James Thomas Jr., Mustapha Bokpin, Jonathan Harris, and Evan Tomlinson, took first place at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge with a time of 39.70. Earlier in the season, the same group finished third at the Tennessee Invitational, running 40.27.
