Relay Teams, Okafor Named SBC Performers Of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Two Middle Tennessee men's relay teams and Lady Raider Rosemary Okafor were honored as the Sun Belt Conference Track Performers of the Week for their performances at the Alabama Relays last weekend.
Middle Tennessee's 4 X 400 relay team qualified for the NCAA Regional
by turning in a school record time of 3:06.40. The sizzling time
produced by the team of Xavier Darden, Mardy Scales, Tim Hicks
and Sean Waller edged Mississippi State for the win at the
Alabama Relays.
The quartet of Darden, Scales, Wesley Dupar-Scott
and Waller also earned a reservation in the Outdoor NCAA
Regionals in the 4 X 100 relays with a time of 40.32.
Okafor won the 100-meter with a time of 11.53 and made
it a two-win performance when she ran away with the win in the
200-meter with a time of 23.61 at Sam Bailey Track in
Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Alabama Relays marked the start of the Outdoor Track and Field season for the Middle Tennessee track and field teams. Middle Tennessee will compete at Mississippi State this weekend.
